Artist Biography




Ali Ghani, born 1969.

- Graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts Baghdad.
- Graduated from the Collage of Fine Arts, Baghdad.
- Participated at Al Wasiti Festival-Baghdad.

- Participated in International exhibition U.A.E.
- Exhibition at Sheraton in Doha, Qatar 2001.
- A collection of his work is displayed at galleries in Europe, USA,
Middle East, and Japan. His work is seen in the most famous hotels,
ministries and banks around the world.

Artwork, style: Oil painting, calligraphy in abstract manner, Islamic art.

Ali Ghani was the son of a goldsmith, and this influence can be
seen in his work and in his extensive use of gold color. His style
of letters and words is very much influenced by Arabian history and
Arabic way of writing. He is productive in a variety of his own
techniques and his work has a three dimensional look and feel.
He always expresses his feelings for Arabic letters and words
superbly. He applies the paint in short, long, rough and smooth way
making rich variety of letter forms and word texture.

He is considered to be one of the best calligrapher, and surely he
created a very unique technique very successfully. He made
us not only see the form of the Arabic letter but also give the
shape a three dimensional look and feel. Simply one of his
painting hanged on the wall makes any viewer think how much
of a creator the human being is.
