Artist Biography




M. AL-Jumaliy from Iraq born 1957.

- Graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts Baghdad, (1976).
- Graduated from the Collage of Fine Arts, Baghdad.
- Participated at Al Wasiti Festival-Baghdad, Iraq.
- Participated in International exhibition U.A.E.
- Exhibition at Sheraton in Doha, Qatar 2001.
- A collection of his work is displayed at galleries in Europe, USA, Middle East, and
Japan. His work is displayed in the most famous hotels, ministries and banks around the  world.
 
Artwork out of country: Italy, America, England, France, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Cuba, Brazil, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lebanon, Qatar, Amman, Emirates, Syria. Many art works in the art galleries in Baghdad.
 
Prizes: Al-Kufa golden medal, 1988. Youth medal, 1977. Baghdad International First and Second Festival Medal.
The Special Fairs: Iraq, in 1977. Bulgaria in 1980, Iraq in 1986. Amman in 1996 and 1999.

His technique does bring us into closer contact with his drawing as attended in every angle and part of his paintings. He carved in stone for several years as well as painting, later turned to paintings exclusively. His work and the symbols he uses is executed in a
way that can look naïve, but in fact it is carefully constructed, to express his ideas and believes, his work is meeting the tradition of primitive history of Iraq and Arabian culture. The title of his paintings comes from one of the streets of old Babylon, using symbols that are carved in the
walls of the hanging gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the World from the old civilization of Mesopotamia, 3000 BC. His Paintings is reflecting
arabian history and culture.
